Taiwan Stamps - 1958, TW C56 Scott 1193-5 Tenth Anniv. WHO - MNH, F-VF : The United Nations held an International Health Conference in New York, N.Y. in 1946. The charter of the World Health Organization was signed by 61 nations during the session. WHO was founded in April 1948, when a sufficient number of nations joined it as members. The International Health Conference for the year 1958 was held in Minneapolis on May 28 and at the same time observed a large scale celebration of the 10th Anniversary of WHO. The Postal Administration issued a set of commemorative stamps on this occasion. The stamp design in the horizontal form is composed of the insignia of WHO in the center with the face value shown in white Arabic figures in the upper left corner.
