China Stamps - 2004-16, Scott 3375-6 Olympic Games from Athens to Beijing - Block of 4 w/Imprint + Control Number - MNH, F-VF : Athens hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. More than 100 years later, the Games of the 28th Olympiad is held again in its birth place Athens from 13 to 29 August 2004, in which outstanding athletes from 202 countries and regions of the five continents of the world participated. China sent a large delegation to this grand event, demonstrating the spirit of unity, peace and friendship of Chinese athletes. The delegation afterwards will escort the Olympic Flag from Athens to Beijing. Athletes across the world will meet again in four years at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, which we hope will be more glorious.
