China Stamps - 2000-17M Scott 3051 27th Olympic Games S/S- MNH, F-VF : The sacred torch of the games was lit on September 15, 2000, in Sydney, Australia. As one of the biggest events so far in the new millennium, the games have attracted athletes from many countries. China sent large contingent composed of 500 athletes, coaches and officials. Chinese athletes participated in more than 170 events from 25 programs. This is the largest number of events that China has participated in and the largest number of athletes taking part. The Chinese athletes demonstrated their capability and talents.
