China Stamps - 1999-8 , Scott 2966-67 The 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Comrade Fang Zhimin - MNH, VF : Fang Zhimin (1899-1935) was a proletarian revolutionary, a member of the Sixth CPC Central Committee, a member of the Central Executive Committee and a member of Presidium of the Central Exeutive Committee of the Chinese Soviet Republic. He led the Yiheng uprisings and was one of the founders of the Red Army and the Soviet Area of Northeast Jiangxi Province. In 1934 he was arrested but remained faithful and unyielding. Some of the works he wrote in jail include lovely China and Records of Events in Jail. He died a heroic death the following year in Nanchang, Jiangxi.
