China Stamps - 1993-16 , Scott 2477 Centenary of Birth of Yang Hucheng - First Day Cover : Yang Hucheng (1893-1949), born in Pu city in Shanxi province, is the well-known leader in the Chinese bourgeois democratic revolution in 1911. He joined the Kuomintang in 1924. On October 12, 1936, he launched the famous Xi An Incident with marshal Zhang Xueliang. He took part in the anti-Japanese war when it broke. Later he was put in jail for almost 12 years. He was assassinated in Chong Qing in September, 1949. In the process of pursuing progress, he showed a deep love for his country. He made indelible contributions to the cooperation between the communist party and the Kuomingtang and the promotion of anti-Japanese war.
