It is also the foundation of learning other clinical disciplines. Based on the guidelines of the National Planned Bilingual Textbooks of the 11th Five-year Plan for All-China TCM Universities or Colleges, this book is primary intended for international students to learn traditional Chinese medicine. The book consists of two parts: general introduction and individual exposition. Focused on syndrome differentiation and treatment, the general introduction mainly contains the definition and scope of traditional Chinese internal medicine, the characteristics of traditional Chinese internal diseases, and the principles and common methods of syndrome differentiation and treatment on traditional Chinese internal diseases. The individual exposition introduces 42 diseases in terms of their general knowledge, etiology and pathogenesis, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, treatment based on syndrome differentiation, commonly used patent Chinese herbal products, lifestyle recommendations, summary; and after-class questions. The general knowledge is clear and accurate. The etiology and pathogenesis is simple and concise. The diagnosis and differential diagnosis is brief and practical. The treatment based on syndrome differentiation includes keys in differentiation and general pathogenesis. The lifestyle recommendations embody the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine. By listing the key or difficult knowledge points, the after-class questions can help the students with a better understanding.

全书分总论和各论两个部分。总论以辨证论治为核心,主要介绍“中医内科学的定义和范围”、“中医内科疾病的特点”、“中医内科疾病辨治纲要”和“中医内科 疾病常用辨治方法”等内容。各论重点选择介绍42个病种,每个病种均按概述、病因病机、诊断与鉴别诊断、辨证论治、常用中成药、调护要点、小结和思考题八 个部分分项论述。力求做到“概述”清楚准确;“病因病机”简明扼要;“诊断与鉴别诊断”简练实用;“辨证论治”中“辨证要点”、“病机概要”等提炼*确、 提纲挈领;“调护要点”体现特色、突出重点。章末列“小结”和“思考题”,以出示知识点的重点、难点,帮助和促进学生自学并加深理解与记忆。
