The DVD demonstrates the life of Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty. In 1735, Emperor Qianlong ascended the throne in the most prosperous period of the Qing Dynasty. In addition to administering the country, Qianlong collected many kinds of books from former generations, summoned more than 4,000 scholars to edit "Si Ku Quan Shu" (Complete Imperial Collection of Books) which is one of the most important Chinese classics. In 1795, after 60 years as the emperor , he thought himself unsuitable to be on the throne any longer, so he passed the throne to his son.
